DO NOT
attempt to update your scanner's firmware if any of the following
apply:
- An ERROR is displayed
on the Operator Panel.
- Your scanner works
properly with the software currently installed.
- Your scanner's
firmware is already up-to-date. |
On this page, the term "firmware" describes the scanner
controller software, which is used by the scanner’s microprocessor to
control the cameras, motor, SCSI bus, etc.
 |
Your
scanner's firmware is stored in FLASH memory, so you can download
new versions to the scanner through the SCSI or USB interface. |
|
For the
loader to function properly, your scanner must be connected and
powered on, and an ASPI or STI driver must be installed and
running. |
|
All ERROR
messages displayed on the Operator Panel must be cleared before
you update the firmware. Errors indicate a key component failure,
and the update may cause more confusion when trying to diagnose
the problem. |
|
If your
scanner is working properly with the current software installed,
there is no need to update its firmware. Updating the firmware in
this case could create problems. |
|
Verify your
scanner's current firmware version in the “About” screen of
the scanning software. Do not attempt to install the same version
of firmware that is currently on your scanner, as this could
result in its corruption. |
Important! Select the firmware listed for your
scanner's exact Model Number. If your
scanner's Model Number is not listed below, do not download firmware.

Support.
