GTCO Calcomp Introduces the ScanPlus IV Family of Scanners

Scanner Offerings Provide Superior Value for Demanding GIS, Reprographic and CAD Applications

October 8, 2001—GTCO CalComp announced today the introduction of the ScanPlus IV family of wide-format scanners. These new scanners offer a versatility that is revolutionizing scanning technology by providing upgrade ability with the addition of a simple smart card. The upgrade can be done in the field, and can add speed or in some cases enable a monochrome scanner to perform color scanning. These new scanners, like all GTCO CalComp scanners, come with a 1-year on-site warranty in the continental USA.

“These new scanners provide our GIS, reprographic and CAD customers more features and more possibilities to meet their scanning needs,” says Rob Meissner, Vice President of Marketing. “It gives them the opportunity to assess their current needs from a scanner, and then, when that need grows, they can upgrade to a faster, higher performance system without the investment of an entirely new scanner.”

“These scanners expand the ScanPlus III series in that they offer professionals more opportunities with superior technologies. Both the monochrome and color ScanPlus IV scanners have new features and advances which provide professionals with an edge in getting new business and expanding their current business,” says Rob Meissner. These features include all-wheel- drive with contour adjustment—ensuring a perfectly straight scanning path, image enhancement power, advanced lens technology, flexible connectivity, and the self-maintenance system, for keeping the cameras perfectly aligned, adjusted and calibrated.

Scan Plus IV scanners are available in various sizes with models ranging from 25” to 50” wide. Additionally, the ScanPlus IV series offers products from 600 to 2400 dpi and speeds up to 6” per second. A variety of color and monochrome models are available with prices starting as low as $8,900.
