GTCO CalComp Awarded U.S. Patent for Collaborative Input System
U.S. patent number 6,930,673 recognizes GTCO CalComp’s innovative InterWrite SchoolPad and MeetingPad
COLUMBIA, MD - September 19, 2005 - GTCO CalComp Inc. announces today that the
U.S. Patent and Trademark Office has awarded the company a patent for its Collaborative
Input System concept. The concept includes one or more wireless graphics tablets
connected to a host computer that allows the user to control the computer. The patent
applies to the company’s award winning InterWrite SchoolPad and MeetingPad that are now
in their third generation. The SchoolPad and MeetingPad feature Bluetooth® wireless
technology and allow teachers and presenters to control any application on their computer
from anywhere in the room and create a truly engaging lesson or presentation. In
addition, up to seven wireless Pads can be connected to the same computer for even
greater audience and class participation.
"Since we pioneered the wireless Pad in 2002, thousands of customers around the world
have used the InterWrite SchoolPad and MeetingPad to enhance the way they teach and

The InterWrite SchoolPad and MeetingPad are part of a suite of interactive products
for the classroom and conference room. The wireless Pads can either be used in conjunction
with the InterWrite SchoolBoard and MeetingBoard, the company’s leading interactive
whiteboards, or they can be used with a projected computer image on any surface to create
an interactive whiteboard. The family of products also includes the InterWrite iPanel,
an interactive LCD display, as well as the InterWrite PRS, an audience response system.
