The award was presented at the Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) Awards Banquet and Gala on June 9, 2006, in Washington, D.C.

The InterWrite SchoolPad is a Bluetooth® wireless device that allows teachers to create an interactive whiteboard on any surface in their classroom. They can interact with their computer, with a connected projector, from up to 300 feet away. Using electromagnetic pen-input technology and InterWrite Software, teachers can use the SchoolPad to digitally annotate over a prepared lesson, website, or any software program to create interactive and engaging lessons.
