GTCO CalComp Enhances the ScanPlus IV Family of Scanners

New scanners provide faster scanning speed for demanding GIS, Reprographic, and CAD applications

May 28, 2004—GTCO CalComp announced today the enhancement of the ScanPlus IV family of large-format scanners with this introduction of 12 new models to the line. The new scanners, which provide significantly higher scanning speeds, range from 25” and 42” to meet a variety of scanner needs.

“The new scanners provide a broad range of capabilities to meet the needs of our customers,” says Rob Meissner, Vice President of Marketing. “Four new 42” scanners, ideal for our reprographics customers, provide up to 10”/sec black/white scanning speed, 3”/sec color scanning, and both Firewire 1394a and USB2 connectivity. Our CAD/GIS customers will appreciate affordability and scanning speed of the four new 25” models as well as the ease of service and lightning fast, 10”/sec, scanning found in two new 36” scanners. In addition, we are introducing two new aperture card scanners.”

The ScanPlus IV family of scanners incorporates versatility by providing upgrade ability with the addition of a simple smart card. The upgrade can be done in the field, and add speed or in some cases enable a Black & White scanner to perform Color scanning.

The ScanPlus IV series of scanners are available in sizes from 25” to 54” wide and include a one-year on-site warranty in the Continental U.S. The ScanPlus IV series offers systems ranging from 600 to 2400 dpi to meet a variety of application requirements. Color and monochrome models are available with prices starting as low as $8,900.

New scanner models included in the release include:

25” Scanners
725SX & 725SX Plus – 800 dpi resolution, 4”/sec B/W, 0.8”/sec color (Plus model)
925SX & 925SX Plus – Up to 2400 dpi resolution, 1.5”/sec B/W, and 1.5”/Sec color

36” Scanners
436CX & 436CX Plus - Up to 800 dpi resolution, 10”/sec B/W, and 3”/Sec color

42” Scanners
742XL & 742XL Plus - Up to 2400 dpi resolution, 10”/sec B/W, and 0.6”/Sec color
942XL & 942XL Plus - Up to 2400 dpi resolution, 10”/sec B/W, and 3.0”/Sec color

Aperture Card Scanners
ACS4600 and ACS 4600 Plus – 6300 dpi optical resolution, 100 card automatic feeder
