InterWrite Meeting Suite Provides a New, Intelligent Way to Meet and Collaborate

April 30, 2001 – GTCO CalComp Inc. announced today the release of their new InterWrite Meeting Suite, consisting of the InterWrite MeetingBoard, InterWrite Software, InterWrite MeetingPad, and InterWrite Meeting Services. The InterWrite Meeting Suite represents the next generation of meeting and collaboration tools for business and education. Comprised of these four integrated products, the Meeting Suite is designed to allow users to intuitively collaborate and train from anyplace in the world.

The InterWrite Meeting Suite is designed for a variety of applications, such as collaboration, brainstorming, presentations, engineering, training and education. Utilizing the full line of products within the Meeting Suite, users can easily highlight meeting or training content, enhance presentation materials and share those materials, real-time, over the Internet. In addition, the Suite of InterWrite products allows users to save and electronically transmit the modified meeting content, eliminating the need to take notes and keeping participants focus on the materials at hand. This Suite of meeting tools is by far the simplest to use and the most integrated approach to meetings and presentations.

InterWrite MeetingBoard is the centerpiece of the new Meeting Suite. The MeetingBoard is an intelligent, easy to use, sophisticated whiteboard designed to allow professionals to increase the effectiveness of meetings. Featuring 3 modes of operation, the board provides total flexibility to suit any meeting style. The most dynamic and powerful mode is Interactive Mode. By connecting a PC and an LCD projector, users can project any Windows application on the board and enjoy complete access to meeting information. The system’s intelligent electronic pens put complete control at the presenter’s fingertips.

The intuitive InterWrite Software is used in Interactive mode to write, draw, annotate or highlight key discussion points, or operate applications in true mouse mode. All meeting notes can be saved in a single file and distributed to training participants electronically with InterWrite’s Software’s Viewer. In PC WhiteBoard mode, the MeetingBoard can be used to capture dry erase notes. With the dry erase markers (contained in the electronic pens) and a connected PC, dry erase notes are captured exactly as written on the board and can also be electronically distributed to the group. For even simpler meetings, users can select CopyBoard mode. A printer is connected directly to the MeetingBoard and can print out meeting notes, no PC required.

The InterWrite MeetingPad is a personal meeting device that allows users to contribute to the presentation from the comfort of their seats. It is ideal in group learning and training situations, since users can get hands-on experience and contribute their thoughts effortlessly. Up to eight MeetingPads can be wirelessly linked to the system, each with the capability to modify and control the meeting information as well as annotate.

InterWrite Meeting Services are designed to allow everyone in an organization the ability to contribute and collaborate over the Internet, in real-time, using only a web browser. Users all log into a common, password protected website and can view, modify and control the presented materials, real time. Using InterWrite Software, all participants can then modify, highlight or annotate the presentation materials so that each location can view the changes. When utilized with the rest of the InterWrite Suite of products, InterWrite Meeting Services is designed to provide the ultimate collaborative experience for education and meetings.
