GTCO CalComp Launches Interactive LCD Panel for Presenters and Teachers

February 9, 2004–GTCO CalComp, Inc. announced today the introduction of the InterWrite iPanel. The InterWrite iPanel combines the advantages of an LCD display with the simplicity of using a pen input device. With the included pen functioning as a mouse, users can interact directly with the vibrant screen to run their applications or to make annotations with the included InterWrite Software.

“The new InterWrite iPanel is perfect for a variety of applications where presenters want to face their audience while still controlling their presentation or lesson,” says Rob Meissner, VP of marketing. “For example, teachers in large auditoriums can use the iPanel at a podium to control their presentation while it is being projected on the screen behind them. Further, by combining the iPanel with InterWrite annotation software, teachers, trainers and corporate presenters can add a level of interactivity to their presentations, unparalleled in the industry.”

The InterWrite iPanel comes with InterWrite Software, which allows users to annotate and highlight information on the screen. The software also includes a large image gallery, a record function to capture audio and screen changes to an AVI file, a virtual keyboard, handwriting recognition and a host of other presentation tools.

The InterWrite iPanel is the newest addition to the InterWrite family of products. The Meeting Suite, consisting of the MeetingBoard and MeetingPad, is used by corporations in their training rooms and conference rooms to engage their audience, capture great ideas, and keep everyone on the same page. The School Suite, consisting of the InterWrite SchoolBoard and InterWrite SchoolPad, is used by teachers around the world to engage students and encourage active participation.
